Leopards Shipment Insurance: Coverage & How to Claim
Quick Answer
Leopards insurance is optional. The sender has to ask for it when booking. If an insured parcel is lost or damaged on the way, Leopards pays whichever is lower: the declared value or the item’s market value. We could not confirm the current price of the insurance, so ask when you book.
How Leopards Insurance Works
Leopards does not insure parcels automatically. The sender must ask and pay for it when booking. Without it, the parcel only has Leopards’ standard, limited cover, which pays much less than a declared value would. If you are the receiver and want to know whether a parcel was insured, ask the person who booked it.
If an insured parcel is lost or damaged, Leopards pays whichever is lower: the value the sender declared when booking, or the item’s real market value. Declaring a higher value does not get you more than the market value.
Filing a Claim
Report Promptly
Leopards asks you to report a problem within 24 hours of finding it. Call the helpline with your CN number ready.
Written claim and proof of value
Hand in a written claim form at a Leopards Express Centre, with proof of the item’s value, such as the purchase invoice.
Insured claims usually take 7 to 14 working days. Leopards’ claims team decides the amount after looking at the case.
